Click the links at right to learn how System
Platon is installed. You must have Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed to view the
pages. Platon wraps around the foundation
and, held in place near the top of the roll with
Platon Plugs or Speedclips, hangs like a curtain.
The flat tab at the top is sealed to the wall to
prevent dirt from filling the air gap and clogging
the drainage path.
When installed according to the following
instructions, Platon installations do not require
a damp proofing spray. It is imperative
however, that foundation drainage tile is in place
and functioning properly to ensure that water and
moisture drained by the Platon System can be
removed.
When installing Platon, the
dimpled side of the membrane must always face the
foundation wall so that an air gap between
back-filled soil and the foundation is created.
To ensure a sealed connection between the flat tab
and the foundation, be sure the wall is clean
where caulking is to be applied.
Platon
is an ideal choice for
use with our ICE Block ICF Building System and
Form-A-Drain Foundation Drainage System.
Platon is far superior to
painted-on coatings because, when your foundation
settles and cracks occur, Platon can continue to
cover the gap (painted-on coatings can't do
that!). With Platon,
moisture never even has a chance to reach your
foundation walls. Your basement stays dry,
free of dampness and mildew. For an even
dryer basement, we recommend using Platon over your concrete
floor. This will create an impermeable vapor
barrier and air gap between the concrete floor and
your flooring. No more cold, damp basement
floors! Call Korit Sales for more
information on any of our products!
